While the national poverty rate is 13.5%, reports show that 52% of students living in dorms, or off campus without assistance from family, live below the poverty rate.

A gift of $100 could help add new items to diversify The Pantry and further provide for those in need. New items would include: hygiene products, school supplies, cleaning items, vitamins and basic emergency prep kits.

Based on cost of living and accessibility to healthy and nutritious meals, the average cost per meal to feed Americans is $2.88.

A gift of $500 could provide enough non-perishable food items to stock The Pantry for one week.
