In just two short years (three competitive semesters) the USM Esports program has gone from a fledgling start-up program to winning both division and conference tournament championships. As the program continues to build and advance in student development, it's important for our USM Esports teams to be equipped with the tools needed to continue this upward trajectory and remain competitive.
It is with this in mind that we ask for your help. An Esports match can last as little as 15 minutes, but many times matches last for hours (the Rainbow 6 Championship match last fall lasted approximately 5 hours). Currently, the teams are competing in fold-up chairs, the kind used frequently in convention facilities or multi-purpose centers. Having the proper chairs in the training/competition arena, specifically designed for gaming, will assist students with their stamina during matches and prepare them better for LAN tournaments (LAN meaning in-person tournaments).
Will you help us? Esports was one of two programs to bring championships to campus in Fall 2021, and we would like this to continue. You have the opportunity to help us enhance our abilities to do by supporting this opportunity and helping to equip our space with the appropriate chairs for gaming terminals.
You can see more of what the Esports program has been up to by visiting our Facebook, Twitter, Twitch TV, or Youtube.
I support USM Esports by giving at this level and wish them the best of luck moving forward!
