Roots and Wings: Campaign for Faculty Development

An excellent education begins with excellent faculty, and helping Southern Miss faculty reach their greatest potential is the purpose of the Center for Faculty Development. When Mississippi Normal College first opened in September 1912, its purpose was to educate and prepare future teachers, which offers the Center for Faculty Development at Southern Miss both roots and wings. From joining research groups to becoming a certified Distinguished Teaching Scholar through the American College and University Educators, the Center for Faculty Development at The University of Southern Mississippi works with faculty at all levels to navigate the changes in classrooms that come with rapidly developing technology and an ever-evolving student population. Contributing to the Center’s campaign, Roots and Wings, will make you a part of the Southern Miss tradition of providing a solid education for current and future students.
